Update on “Bigfoot 100K”. I started having migraines Thursday night and thought they were done and started to drive to Mt. St. Helens for the race about 1 AM Saturday morning with not much sleep. About half way there, I felt another migraine coming on so I pulled over and road it out, but by the time it was done, it was too late to catch the shuttle to the start.
So I got knocked down! What now? Choice #1- cry #2- keep on keeping on! Tomorrow, Sunday, I am going to run 12 hours. Next weekend, I am going to go to Mt. St. Helens and run more than the 68 miles of “Bigfoot”. I am going to do 70 miles on my own. This will be more challenging because there will be no markers, no aid stations! There are streams along the way, so I can filter water and carry enough food in my pack. I will have to do an out and back because I won’t have a shuttle like this race but I’m pulling off the mat!
Folks, we all get knocked down but it’s what you do after that counts…
