The word comes from the French “parcours”, which literally means, “the way through”, or “the path”. What we now all know as “Parkour” with a “k” had its origins in a training program for French Special Forces known as “Parcours du combattant”, or “The Path of the Warrior”.
I have introduced this into my trail running and it is a lot of fun and I really get to use my mind as well in making quick decisions as to what step or hand placement do I use next? There is a facility in Seattle that teaches Parkour. I don’t know anything about them at all other than they state that they are a Parkour facility, but I think it is great that different forms of moment are being taught and that some day will will be doing more movement training and less “machine” training! #thetrainer #Insideoutfitness #parkour #personaltrainer #functionaltraining #hoodriver #insideoutfitnesshoodriver #ultramarathon #fitness #functionaltrainer #health #running #fitnessaddict #workout #cardio #train #training #healthy #parkour #freerunning #healthychoices #active #strong #motivation #determination #lifestyle #getfit #cleaneating #eatclean #exercise
