Beginners boxing!

Folks, I have a sign out front that says “boxing”! I teach boxing but it is “beginners boxing”. I think the beginning is extremely important. When you get to the point of needing to spar a lot and wanting to take a fight, I will help find another coach that has more room. Having said that, I have never had a client that, when they got to that point, wanted to take that leap! Most people don’t actually want to be in a ring in front of hundreds or thousands of people and fight someone they don’t know!

Why do I teach “beginners boxing “? Because boxing is such a wonderful way to work the body, especially for older folks because they learn how to properly continue taking “appropriate “ distance of steps so they won’t fall and break a hip! If you are over 60 and fall and break a hip then then your chances of longevity look bleak, according to a recent study. So I use feet position training through boxing and other methods to help folks not fall in the first place!
